In order to test my (mediocre) PHP+mySQL skills (and because I follow the 'real web geeks build their own software' dogma), I've recently started work on a blogging software called "imPRESSion".
You can see progress so far live at http://unsyntaxsoft.com/labs/, which also serves as the mock-up site for a server I'm buying in January.
Right now, I'm focusing mostly on getting the major features (posting, commenting, and admin panel) coded and working. Once that's done, I'll focus on fine-tuning, securing, and adding other things. As of now, the front page, individual post page, and the login system (for admin(s)) roughly work.
I'll definitely need some help with fine-tuning, securing, and anti-spam, so if you know a thing or two about those, you're welcome to help.
Oh, and for the record, the bottom two posts on the main page and the individual post view comments are static HTML and are there to waste space and help me fine tune the design respectively.
